About Us

Rhondda amateur radio society has had a busy year, we have now relocated to our new clubhouse, the Rhondda Sports Centre

Formed over 90 years ago, The Rhondda Amateur Radio Society is one of the oldest Amateur Radio Clubs in South Wales and is still active promoting amateur radio, we have helped Tonypandy scout Group and its leaders to pass the foundation exam, and assisted them to set their own radio station at their scout hall as well as participating in jamboree on the air for the last couple of years.

We have been active with the local street fete and held a number of field days, particularity operating QRP from the summits of our local mountains with great success; we also have some members active with RAYNET, and of course have the usual mix of talks and demonstrations

The society is also involved in training and running courses for all levels of exams, and is a registered examination centre.
